Hi there! Sorry for the delay. If you installed via Steam, it has installed Glyph for you. However, it often installs Glyph in an odd location, and has no impact on the settings for Glyph.
To avoid the message to install RIFT again, go into Glyph directly and check out the Settings. In the settings you can set the installation path for RIFT to the place where you currently have RIFT installed.
Once Glyph is looking in the right place you shouldn't run into this error anymore.

Check Is Glyph installed in your RIFT folder and/or Program Files folder?
For me at one point in time Glyph was installed in diferrent locations.
To resolve this I uninstalled glyph. Here is a link if you need help figuring out how to properly remove a program in windows.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uninstall-change-program#uninstall-change-program=windows-7
Then I removed the Glyph folder that was inside my game folder. Next I downloaded the Glyph installer from the website and ran it as administrator.
www.glyph.net
Do not run the game yet, after installing Glyph it may be best to reboot your computer, then once it is done rebooting then Open Glyph, but not the game client yet.
Let Glyph do its patching as needed, then when its done you will want to check the Settings in Glyph to make sure it is pointing to the correct folders for your game clients. Save settings, close Glyph, then open it back up and try selecting the game you want to play. If Glyph wants to patch again then let it, but don't interrupt the process.
Does Glyph get stuck in that patch loop you described in Just RIFT? or does it happen with any of the game clients?
If it is getting stuck on just RIFT then close any open windows of RIFT and Glyph.
Open an explorer window and navigate to your RIFT installation folder.
Next Open and run as administrator the rift-live.exe
Let it do its thing and complete what needs to be done, and when its done you should be left with a Glyph window open.
Make sure to check the settings in this Glyph window and verify the install paths for your game clients are correct. If so save settings and close Glyph completely.
Open Glyph like you would normally not as Admin. If the issue is gone then GRATS! welcome back to RIFT!
If the issue is not gone you may want to repeat this process but this time before you run rift-live.exe rename %APPDATA%RIFT to %APPDATA%RIFT.old then open rift-live.exe
Good luck hope that helps :wink4:
**Note** The Glyph launcher you open should be the one installed in the %PROGRAMFILES% for 32bit OS, or %PROGRAMFILES(X86)% for 64bit OS
